Cranbrook and District Angling Club

Juniors

Many of our waters cater for junior anglers, namely Runham Lake, Saw Lodge, Springwood, Rosemary Lakes, Pattenden Lane and Burnt Wood. All these offer youngsters an easy chance of catching fish and learning the basics of fishing.

The Environment Agency has announced a shake-up of rod licences, following feedback from anglers all over England. The changes include a FREE rod licence for junior anglers which is hoped to encourage more young people to give fishing a go and secure the future of the sport.

Juniors will still need to register and receive a licence in order to fish but the licence will be free.

The changes come into effect in March 2017 with new licences valid from 1 April.

To encourage more Junior anglers to join, we have kept our Junior Membership Fee to just £15!

The club runs many angling events throughout the year for youngsters including coaching sessions, junior matches, our annual Family Day. The events schedule can be viewed on the top right.

And we also offer the chance for local youth groups (cubs, scouts, guides etc) to come and have a go at fishing.

If you would like to part in any of these events please contact the club on info@cranbrookanglingclub.co.uk

Cranbrook and District Angling club treats Young Anglers with respect, values them at all times and will keep them ‘safe’ from all forms of abuse.

We want you to be -

  • treated fairly by other anglers and have your thoughts and feelings listened to and respected.
  • cared for by skilled, experienced staff and volunteers who understand young people
  • given praise and encouragement and the opportunity to make yourself a better angler
  • encouraged to develop self-discipline and consider other anglers feelings;
  • able to learn new skills, make yourself more confident and more positive person.
MOST OF ALL WE WANT YOU TO FEEL THAT ANGLING IS A SAFE SPORT!

As a young person you are the future of our sport and we want to help make you a successful angler.

All people in Angling should be committed to your welfare and there will be lots of adults that will be ready to listen and help you.
