Cranbrook and District Angling Club

Juniors

We are proud to be one of the few angling clubs that have achieved the Angling Trusts 'Fishmark' Accreditation.

Many of our waters cater for junior anglers, namely Runham Lake, Saw Lodge, Rosemary Lakes, Pattenden Lane and Burnt Wood. All these offer youngsters an easy chance of catching fish and learning the basics of fishing.

In 2017, the Environment Agency announced a shake-up of rod licences, following feedback from anglers all over England. The changes include a FREE rod licence for junior anglers which is hoped to encourage more young people to give fishing a go and secure the future of the sport.

Juniors will still need to register and receive a licence in order to fish but the licence will be free.

The changes came into effect in March 2017.

To encourage more Junior anglers to join, we have kept our Junior Membership Fee to just £15! And every full paying member can get up to 2 FREE junior memberships with their first year application. Please see the membership page for more information.

The club runs many angling events throughout the year for youngsters including coaching sessions, junior matches and our annual Family Day.

And we also offer the chance for local youth groups (cubs, scouts, guides etc) to come and have a go at fishing.

If you or any groups would like to part in any of these events please contact the club on juniors@cranbrookanglingclub.co.uk
