The Angling Trust are currently running a qualification (not a coaching qualification) that would help deliver one of the objectives of the National Angling Strategy. One result of a survey was that anglers would go fishing more if they had someone to go with.

Having Angling Champions in a club can help encourage others to go fishing. This involves a short evening get together to receive some training/briefing from the Angling Trust's Regional Development Officer and then attending some specific day events (perhaps 6 in total of around 3-4 hours each) e.g. pike fishing session, carp fishing session, match fishing or family fish for fun days. You will need a DBS check etc. and that will be arranged by the AT.

This is also part of the Club's ClubMark Accreditation application and strategy to increase participation, membership and diversity.

We need 10 volunteers - you will get a cap, polo shirt, plus other goodies from the AT and we can publicise it. If we get 10, then you will not necessarily have to attend each event as we can spread the load. You are going fishing and able to meet people with a similar passion.

Please contact Tim Wood on 07800 705 547 or email the club giving your contact details in full.
